We offer 4 or 5-night packages. Depending on the length of stay you have booked with us you might arrive before, or depart on different days to the following itinerary. Adding extra nights is recommended, as this allows you the time to enjoy the city.
STANDARD PACKAGE/4 Nights/16 - 20 October 2025- Cape Town Waterfront Breakwater Lodge (Protea Hotel by Marriott)
Thursday 16 October 2025 Arrival Day
Welcome to Cape Town! Make your way from the airport to the hotel and check in. Usually, hotel rooms are ready after 15:00, if you arrive earlier you can leave your luggage at the hotel. Cape Town Waterfront Breakwater Lodge(Protea Hotel by Marriott) is situated in the heart of the V&A Waterfront, easy walking distance to all race activities and surrounded by top quality restaurants and entertainment.
Between 10:00-15:00 a representative will be waiting in the lobby to greet you and answer any questions you might have.
Friday 17 October 2025 Expo & Welcome Reception
This morning after breakfast we take you the short distance on foot to the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon Expo. Pick up your bib and explore the stalls before making your own way back to the hotel at your leisure.
This evening join our welcome reception and enjoy drinks and substantial snacks with runners from all over the world. You will receive support and vital information from our team to make the most of your Cape Town Marathon experience and stay in South Africa’s Mother City.

Saturday 18 October 2025 Shake-out Run & Pre-race Dinner
This morning after breakfast you are welcome to join for a light shake-out run along the harbour and Sea Point Promenade. This will be at an easy pace and is a chance to loosen your legs. It will be no longer than 5km (approx. 3 miles).
Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Consider using your complimentary Hop-on Hop-off sightseeing bus ticket today to explore the city and surrounding areas.
This evening we will enjoy a pre-race dinner.

Sunday 19 October 2025 Race Day & Celebrations!
Sanlam Cape Town Marathon race day is here! After an early breakfast, make your way to the start line only a short easy walk away. Our representatives will take escorted trips at key times and will be in the hotel lobby to provide guidance.
After the race, recharge in the finish village, International tent. Meet up here to find your family and friends or meet them back the hotel, only 10 minutes walk away.
This evening we’ll meet up for post race celebrations, saying cheers to all of our runners on an amazing accomplishment!

Unless you have booked extra nights with us then we will bid you farewell today. It’s not goodbye but instead we’ll see you next time as we hope you will join us for another Marathon Tours & Travel trip.

Thursday 16 October 2025 Arrival Day & Welcome Reception
Make your own way to the stunning Radisson Collection Waterfront Hotel in Cape Town and check in for your 4 night stay. The rest of the day is free to explore on your own to familiarise yourself with the city.
Early evening join us and meet and greet with your fellow travelers at Marathon Tours & Travel’s hosted Welcome Reception and Race Briefing. You will receive support and vital information from our team to make the most of your Cape Town Marathon experience and stay in South Africa’s Mother City. Following you are free to enjoy dinner at one of the many fine restaurants along the famous Waterfront.
Friday 17 October 2025 Half Day City Tour & Expo
After breakfast, we will depart for a half-day sightseeing tour of this beautiful city including all the ‘must-sees” of Cape Town, which is a geographical and cultural extravaganza. You will visit Cape Town Castle, which was built between 1666 and 1679 and is the oldest colonial building in South Africa. Originally built to house the colonial administrators and enforcers of Dutch East India Company rule, the Castle today is the home of the military in the Cape and hosts various fascinating museum collections. It is a heritage site with an authentically restored 17th century forge and is a unique example of classic Dutch architecture from that period. If weather permits you’ll also enjoy a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain where you will be able to get a 360 degree view of Cape Town, Table Bay and the nearby peaks of the surrounding mountains. A stop at the expo to pick up your race kits will be included in the tour. The rest of the day you will have on your own to explore Cape Town.

Enjoy a free day to explore Cape Town on your own or consider joining us for a full day on the Cape Point & Peninsula Tour.
Full-Day Cape Point & Peninsula Tour | RMB 1,300 per person
This is an awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point. Magnificent beaches, breath-taking views and picturesque coastal villages are to be seen along the way. The tour takes you along the Atlantic Seaboard via Chapman’s Peak to Cape Point, Simon’s Town & the Boulders Beach Penguin Colony. A stop for lunch will be included with the tour.
